ICDA Meeting Minutes

Members Present: Lance Kaldor, Sam Galan, Stacy Harshman, Ella Johnson, Andrew Shaffer, Matt V., Paula Mandeville, and Jessica Henderson
New Business: A motion was made for the outgoing or Past President to manage and/or take leadership responsibility for the Proclamation each year. There was a second for the motion and a vote. The motion passed for the Past President to take responsibility to manage the Proclamation from here on out.
Update from the Idaho Counseling Association (ICA). ICA is updating their policy and procedures manual. There is a membership requirement in which divisions need to have 400 members or 70% of division members need to also be members of ICA. We currently have around 52% who are currently ICA members.
ICDA was awarded a $500 grant from NCDA. The money will be used for the conference and/or membership.
Call for volunteers to manage the ICDA Facebook page.
Committee Chair Updates:
Conference Committee: Ella reported that a request has put out to two different keynote speakers to speak on Leadership at the conference. The conference committee is calling for additional volunteers to assist with conference planning. Ella is creating flyers and updating the website to promote the conference and recruit committee volunteers. Ella was encouraged to contact the Secretary and Secretary elect for assistance with marketing. Lance proposed that we host a face-to-face meeting in February to coordinate planning for the conference.
In 2018 ICA will host a “super conference” on November 22-24th and will combine state divisions. Members discussed the possibility of connecting with ISCA to work together in marketing for upcoming conferences.
Membership Committee- Recruited a member (Lisa Berg-Idaho Community Organization) during the proclamation. Getting together with Jennifer Ross, to go through and clean up the membership list. The committee will discuss how to utilize the $250 grant funds.
Finance- Jenn Ross is not on the call today. Jennifer is working on a policy and procedure manual that includes checklists for Proclamation and Conference, Webpage log-in information, Conference call info, etc. At the ICA conference, members will have an opportunity to view and vote for the policy and procedures manual.
Nominations/Elections- Sam will put out a call for nominations for awards related to career development.
Government Relations- Andrew was able to connect with the NCDA Government Relations Chair. Andrew will be involved in a meeting with the NCDA Govt. Relations committee to clarify appropriate activities at the state level.
