PRESENTER - Dr. David Blustein

 

David BlusteinDavid L. Blustein is a Professor in the Department of Counseling, Developmental, and Educational Psychology at the Lynch School of Education at Boston College. His involvement in NCDA has included several presentations and a keynote at the annual conferences as well as numerous contributions to the Career Development Quarterly.  In addition to publishing 85 journal articles and book chapters, he has written a book entitled "The Psychology of Working: A New Perspective for Career Development, Counseling, and Public Policy.  In addition, David has been a practicing career counselor for 20 years, and continues to see clients as Director of Career Development Services for Child and Family Psychological Services in Norwood,MA. 


FOCUS - Dr. Blustein will focus on the growing mental health challenges faced by unemployed and underemployed clients, highlighting the initial signs of trouble that often emerge in our counseling work.  He also will review strategies for integrating mental health interventions with career counseling, with the goal of helping our clients cope with their stress, finding support in their communities, and reducing the risks of greater psychic pain.

 

REGISTRATION - Individuals and groups must register by Tuesday, February 14th. Group Registration is ideal for a classroom, state division meeting, or other gathering where career development services providers can share and learn together.

Group (6 or more) $200 A sign in/out sheet will be provided for CE verification.  An additional fee of $5 is required for each certificate requested.
